Elizabeth Gopal

Elizabeth Gopal joined the Richmond Symphony in 2010. Also a member of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Elizabeth is a regular substitute musician with the Baltimore and Annapolis Symphony Orchestras. She has also performed with the Virginia, Delaware, and Lancaster Symphony Orchestras. Elizabeth completed her Master of Music at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2010 and her Bachelor of Music at Rice University in 2008. Her principal teachers were Daniel Foster, James Dunham, and Karen Ritscher. In past summers, Elizabeth has participated in the National Orchestral Institute, Spoleto USA, and the Pacific Music Festival in Japan. She has performed in orchestras under the batons of Christoph Eschenbach, Itzhak Perlman, Michael Stern, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Marin Alsop. Elizabeth plays a 2003 Marilyn Wallin viola.
