The evening’s performance features Debussy’s Pagodes and La boite a joujoux with a traditional Balinese shadow play, Evan Ziporyn’s Ngaben for Balinese gamelan and orchestra, Dewa Alit’s Open My Door, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 25, and the world premiere of Sumarsam’s reconstruction of the Javanese music Debussy heard at the 1889 Paris Exposition.
