Richmond Symphony Kicks Off Pops Series with The Music of Elton John Starring Michael Cavanaugh

Richmond, Va. (Sept. 19, 2019)—The Richmond Symphony will welcome back the Grammy- and Tony-nominated entertainer Michael Cavanaugh to perform favorites from Sir Elton John alongside the Symphony on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Dominion Energy Center for the Performing Arts’ Carpenter Theatre.

This high-energy show will include hits from the iconic star, including “Crocodile Rock,” “Bennie and the Jets,” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”  Cavanaugh, who received acclaim for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical “Movin’ Out,” performed with the Richmond Symphony during its 2017-18 season in The Music of Billy Joel.
