Dominion Energy Center for the Performing Arts

October 4, 2018 – Richmond, Virginia: Few genres of music elicit toe-tapping nostalgia like the disco of the 70’s with iconic hits like Dancing Queen and YMCA still grooving through today’s pop culture. On Saturday, November 3 at 8pm at the Dominion Energy Center for the Performing Arts, the Richmond Symphony proudly presents Disco Inferno, a concert that re-captures the mood and feel of the Disco “daze.” For this night of funk, the Symphony is teaming up with Jeans ‘n Classics, a group of stellar musicians who perform with the best symphony orchestras in the world.

The evening’s concert is conducted by Chia-Hsuan Lin, who will lead the Richmond Symphony and Jeans ‘n Classics musicians in a thrilling throw-back to the reign of disco music. Hear popular hits from ABBA, Earth Wind & Fire, Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, and many more of your favorite disco artists!

For almost 20 years, Jeans ‘n Classics has teamed up with symphonies across North America to combine top-of-the-line rock musicians with classical orchestral counterparts. The group has made it their mission to attract new and diverse audience members to symphony concerts through the unique pairing of orchestral musicians and rock flavor. JNC founder, Peter Brennan, has established himself as a prominent producer, arranger, and guitarist in both North American and UK music scenes. Accompanied by live background vocals and instrumentation, lead vocalist Gavin Hope will perform the music of legends Michael Jackson, Barry White, the Bee Gees and more. As a multi-Juno Award nominee, Hope has entertained audiences through song, stage, TV, and film, and is heralded for his comedic timing and exceptional skills on the dance floor.

So, break out the platform heels and pull on your satin pants, you don’t want to miss your chance to see Disco Inferno, on Saturday, November 3rd at 8pm at Dominion Energy Center for the Performing Arts.
