Dominion Energy Provides Active Military with Free and Discounted Richmond Symphony Tickets

August 1, 2018- Richmond, Virginia: We are proud to announce a new partnership with Dominion Energy to provide active military members with free and discounted tickets to Richmond Symphony concerts this season!

Offering free tickets for youth 18 and under has been a cornerstone of our efforts to expand access to the arts for families by removing barriers to attendance and encourage families to experience live symphonic music together. Last season, over 700 free youth tickets were distributed.

As the Symphony strives to engage and serve broader segments of the Richmond-metro area community, this $25,000 grant from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation will make it possible to extend the free ticketing program for the 2018/19 season to active members of the military.

“Dominion Energy has a proud legacy of supporting military service members and their families,” said Hunter A. Applewhite, president of the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. “We are pleased to partner with the Richmond Symphony to provide inspiring, top-notch symphony performances to the brave men and women who give up much to protect our freedoms.”

Like Dominion Energy, the Richmond Symphony recognizes the sacrifices of our active military members and their families and sees this as an opportunity to thank them for their service and offer the chance to attend and enjoy Symphony concerts. Specifically, the Symphony will offer the following access for active military members during the 2018/19 season:

  • Two (2) free tickets to all Masterworks programs (12 concerts)
  • Two (2) free tickets to any Symphony in 60 concert (2 concerts)
  • Up to four (4) free tickets to LolliPops Series concerts (4 concerts)
  • A 10% discount on tickets to Symphony Pops Series concerts (4 concerts)

To redeem these benefits, military members will need to show ID upon ticket pick up. Some restrictions may apply to concert specials, depending on ticket availability and other factors.
